Where Pakistani applicants apply
Embassy of France, Islamabad
Examines and decides visa applications for applicants resident in Pakistan (per France-Visas). The Consulate General in Karachi is not competent for visas.
Apply to France only if it is your main destination — see which Schengen country to apply to.

How to apply for a France Schengen visa from Pakistan
- Confirm France is your main destination (most nights, or the main purpose of the trip). If you spend more time in another Schengen country, you apply to that country instead.
- Create your application on France-Visas and complete the form. The portal also generates a personalised document list for your purpose of travel.
- Book your submission appointment through the route the Embassy of France in Pakistan currently publishes (see the caution below).
- Attend in person with your printed France-Visas form, passport and original documents; give fingerprints and a photo unless you gave fingerprints for a Schengen visa in the last 59 months.
- Pay the visa fee and any centre charge, keep your receipt, and wait for the decision.
The core documents are the same for every Schengen country — see the full requirements by profile — and the fees are explained on our fees page.
What is specific to France
France-Visas is the starting point
Unlike some countries where the form is a downloadable PDF, France requires the online France-Visas application. Fill it in yourself, carefully: the answers (purpose, dates, accommodation, who pays) must match your documents exactly.
One deciding office for Pakistan
According to France-Visas, the Embassy in Islamabad is the office that examines visa applications from Pakistan; the Consulate General in Karachi does not handle visas. Applicants from Karachi and Sindh should still check where their submission appointment takes place.
Scam warnings from the Embassy
In 2026 the Embassy of France warned Pakistani applicants about fake visa offers and people selling appointments. Appointments are booked only through the official route the Embassy publishes, and no agent — including us — can buy or reserve one for you.
How we can help with a France application
- Confirm France is the right embassy for your itinerary
- A document checklist for your profile, then a full review of your file
- Help with the form, cover letter and itinerary
- Preparation for the appointment — never buying or reserving slots
France visa FAQ
Do I apply to France if I also visit Italy?
Yes, if France is where you spend the most nights or the main purpose of your trip. If the nights are equal, you apply to the country you enter first.
Can someone else fill in my France-Visas form?
You can get help, but the answers are yours and must be accurate. We review the form with you so it matches your documents; you remain responsible for what you submit.
Does the Karachi consulate issue French visas?
According to France-Visas, no: the Embassy in Islamabad examines visa applications from Pakistan. Check the Embassy’s page for the current submission locations.
