Germany Schengen Visa from Pakistan

Germany accepts Schengen visa applications from Pakistan directly at its missions — there is no outsourced application centre. Which mission you apply to depends on the province you live in.

How to apply for a Germany Schengen visa from Pakistan

  1. Check your jurisdiction: Islamabad for ICT, Punjab, KP and AJK; Karachi for Sindh and Balochistan.
  2. Register on the mission’s free online appointment waiting list (RK-Termin). Registration is free; never pay anyone for a slot.
  3. Complete the VIDEX form online, print it and sign it.
  4. Prepare the documents on the mission’s checklist for your purpose of travel (the tourist checklist is summarised below).
  5. Attend your appointment in person, give biometrics, and pay the fee in cash in PKR.

The core documents are the same for every Schengen country — see the full requirements by profile — and the fees are explained on our fees page.

What is specific to Germany

What the German tourist checklist asks Pakistani applicants for

The Embassy’s tourist-visa checklist includes a NADRA Family Registration Certificate (FRC) in English, your CNIC, all your old passports, 6 months of bank statements, 3 months of salary slips (if employed), travel insurance of at least €30,000, and disclosure of every earlier visa refusal. An unsigned passport is not accepted.

No remonstration since July 2025

The German missions in Pakistan state that the remonstration procedure (asking the mission to reconsider a refusal) was abolished from 1 July 2025. A refusal now means reapplying with a stronger file, or the formal legal route the refusal letter describes.

Document verification is for other visa types

Pakistani civil documents cannot be apostilled or legalised for Germany; the Embassy uses a verification procedure through a cooperation lawyer, at a fee. The Embassy describes this for family-reunion and identity documents — not for a standard Schengen tourist visa.

Watch for service notices

The visa section announces temporary closures and changes on its website (for example a temporary closure from 20 April 2026). Check the latest notice before planning dates.

How we can help with a Germany application

  • Confirm Germany is the right embassy for your itinerary
  • A document checklist for your profile, then a full review of your file
  • Help with the form, cover letter and itinerary
  • Preparation for the appointment — never buying or reserving slots

Germany visa FAQ

Does Germany use VFS or another visa centre in Pakistan?

No. For Schengen visas the Embassy in Islamabad and the Consulate General in Karachi receive applications themselves, by appointment through their free online waiting list.

Is the appointment waiting list free?

Yes. Registering on the mission’s waiting list costs nothing. Anyone charging you for a German appointment is not an official channel.

Can I appeal a German Schengen refusal?

The missions in Pakistan abolished the remonstration procedure on 1 July 2025. Read the refusal reasons carefully; most applicants address them and reapply.
